Dear Parents and Friends of Bishop England High School,
We realize it can be an overwhelming time of year, but we are asking that you keep Bishop England's Emerald Ball in the back of your mind during this Christmas season because we need your help. Money raised at the gala (which will be held on February 7, 2014) will be used for tuition assistance and important building needs.
What can YOU do? We're so glad you asked...
- Donate an item for the silent or live auction. No item is too small because we can package some things together. Some of the things collected so far include certificates for haircuts, restaurant gift cards, a trip to NYC, beach houses, and jewelry. When you are out shopping, please consider soliciting an item for BE. Have you received a gift card you won't use? We would love to have it.
- Be a sponsor for the event. The more expenses that are underwritten by sponsorships, the more funds can be added to the bottom line. Sponsorship opportunities start at $250, which includes 2 gala tickets and advertising. For more information, click here...
- Get together with some friends, and host an event for an exciting addition to this year's gala-Party with a Purpose. You would determine the theme and date of the party and how many people could attend. You would also set the price per attendee. On the night of the gala, there will be a sign-up sheets with the details for each party offered. We hope to be able to offer 10 different parties. So far, we have an oyster roast for 50, a sunset cruise for 50, and a Girls' Night Out. Some popular party offerings we have seen are a tennis gathering with a lesson thrown in, a Kentucky Derby party complete with prizes for best hat, a flower arranging class, and a wine tasting. Just use your imagination! Not only do all proceeds go to the gala receipts, but also it is a great chance to meet some new people.
- Purchase a wine cork for $20 to participate in a wine pull. The cork will have a number on it, which corresponds to a bottle of wine. You are guaranteed to "pull" a bottle worth at least $20, but we already have bottles worth much more. If you have a nice bottle of wine left over from your celebrations, we will take it off your hands. We do ask that the bottle have a value of at least $20.
