 Let us pray

November is the month of the Holy Souls beginning November 1 with All Saints' Day (which is a holy day of obligation) and November 2 with All Souls' Day.  Let us remember all who have gone before us, especially those within the Bishop England Family, and our own families.

"Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.  May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace."

 Amen.

Bishop England is in need of a host family willing to open up their home and provide a loving environment to a 10th grade male student for the 2014 spring semester.

Families are encouraged to consider being a host family for one of our international students.  There is a stipend of $800 per month to be paid to the family to offset the costs of having a student in your home.

2013 Bishops Buddy Walk!

Fun at the DSAL Buddy Walk...

Mary Harriet Moore and Daniel Brannan

Sunday, October 6th was a great day for the Bishop England community to celebrate our Options Program and our students with Down Syndrome!  TEAM BISHOPS, comprised of 264 members of the BE community, represented the largest team at the 10th Annual Buddy Walk sponsored by the Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry. The Buddy Walk is an annual event filled with jump castles, games, face painting, hot dogs, and a one mile walk around a Daniel Island neighborhood.  In addition to enjoying the festivities of the event, the BEHS Key Club and CSMC worked tirelessly to help with the set-up and clean-up as well as operated events throughout the day.  The Down Syndrome Association entrusted these two groups to take sole responsibility of the multiple jump castles.  Thank you to the Key Club, Mrs. O'Brien, CSMC, and Ms. McGinley for their hard work.  You made Bishop England proud!

In 2007, BEHS established TEAM BISHOPS to help the BE community come together to embrace its mission to fully foster a learning community characterized by mutual respect and charity.  The Buddy Walk has become a way to celebrate diversity and exhibit pride in our Options Program.  Since the Options Program's development, Bishop England has established a team of over 250 students annually and has donated over $2500 each year.  TEAM BISHOPS 2013 donated $2,570.  The donation helps provide services and programs to enhance the quality of life for individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.  Click here to view additional photos.

Opening Night!

Mark your calendars for a special murder mystery night.

      null

Mark your calendars!!!   The Bishop England Drama Club will present an evening of Murder and Mayhem as the BE Players take the stage in their production of "Rehearsal for Murder." Please join us at the BE Performing Arts Center on November 8 & 9 at 7PM, and be ready to solve the mystery. BE's stellar cast includes Sam Lawton, Beth Dutour, Hannah Warren, Lara Brooksbank, Logan Stich, Mollie Johnson, Dalton Hester, Cal Schaafsma, Corey Clancy, Robert Seney, Donovan Thompson, Ashley Devaney, Nicole Loftis, and many others.

When his leading lady (and fiancée) Monica Welles (Beth Dutour) is found dead from an apparent suicide after the opening night of her Broadway stage debut, playwright Alex Dennison (Sam Lawton) is left heartbroken. On the first anniversary of her death, he gathers the cast and crew from that ill-fated night in the same Broadway theater, ostensibly to read a new play he is working on, a mystery in which a famous actress is killed. As the reading progresses, the scenes seem to the cast to be uncomfortably close to actual encounters they might have had with Monica.

Let's have a stellar turnout when Bishop England premiers Murder Mystery!
