Parenting Tip: Bridging the Gap

Did you know that 76% of incoming kindergartners have no knowledge of books and 53% can't write their name?  The Stark County District Library can help bridge the gap by preparing children for kindergarten and then ensuring that they read at the appropriate grade level. Success in third grade has been proven to determine success as an adult. Early literacy sets a child on a course for a positive educational future. The SCDL provides children with materials, educational hands-on programs, and digital access. Best of all, it is all free!
