Did you know that over 40% of cats and dogs that visit the

vet are either overweight or obese?

One of the best methods of portion control and calorie restriction has been "THE GREEN BEAN DIET!"

Substitute green beans for a portion of kibble and or treats when putting your dog or cat on a calorie restricted diet. Offer them as treats instead of calorie rich milk bones, raw-hides, or pig ears. It will be good fiber for your pet and you can give as many as you want all day long. Use canned, fresh, or frozen.

In addition, have your overweight pets work for their food by placing kibbles of the daily ration (or green beans!) throughout the house and or yard.

Here at All Creatures, we encourage our patients to step on the scale at every visit! Keep your pet healthy by keeping an eye out for those extra pounds.
