Cousin Jack's Mariposa Evenings

Cousin Jack's Mariposa Evenings - brought to you by The Mariposa County Arts Council and its many fine sponsors - continues into the second weekend of twelve, presenting NICHOLAS LEFLER on Friday, July 19, and THE MOUNTAIN MEN on Saturday, July 20.

Nicholas Lefler

Making his Mariposa Evenings debut, Nicholas Lefler will be performing innovative Spanish, Gypsy and Classical Guitar that is astonishing. Using Loop Technology that allows the stacking of up to 14 layers of live guitar, bass and percussion -"on the fly"- Lefler creates the sound of a modern one man band that is astounding to behold and hear. Visit his web site: www.nicholaslefler.com for an example and more information on this master musician.

Gathered around a single condenser microphone like an old time radio show, The Mountain Men perform a Roots style of Bluegrass/Americana that's pure as a mountain stream. Singing and playing their traditional instruments (guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, dobro and upright bass), this group is a conglomeration of players assembled from several popular Sierra and Bay Area bands - The Trespassers, The Jespersons, Cryin' Shame and Pathetic Honey - brought together by their mutual love of this distinct American style of music. For more information on this roots music collective who've already headlined The Great American Music Hall, visit their facebook page.

All performances begin at 7 p.m. at the Mariposa County Art Park, located on Hwy. 140, between 4th and 5th Streets, in historic downtown Mariposa, CA. Free parking on 5th Street along the Creek Walkway to the Park, also providing handicapped access.

The shows are free to the public - tips for the performers will be solicited, encouraged, and appreciated.

The Mariposa Arts Council, sponsor of Cousin Jack's Mariposa Evenings, is funded in part by Mariposa County, the California Arts Council, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

The MARIPOSA COUNTY ARTS COUNCIL, INC. is an incorporated not-for-profit organization, created to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County.
