Simplify Your Landscape and Your Life
Protect Your Plant Material

With low temperatures in the single digits predicted for Monday and Tuesday of next week, you may want to take some precautions to protect your plant material.

King Landscaping plants hardy material that should be able to withstand the cold temperatures but there are a few types of plants that will benefit from being covered.

Here's a list of material that may be found in your yard that could be affected by the cold.

  • Gardenia
  • Fatsia
  • Holly Fern
  • Acanthus

How to Cover - Using cloth sheets is the preferred method, but you can also use trash cans, buckets, tarps or plastic sheeting. The idea is to make sure that the sheet touches the ground all the way around the plant thereby trapping the ground heat under the sheet next to the plant.
