Greetings!,
We are back from Salem, Oregon after meeting and holding our new granddaughter, Baby Ember!!! So amazing-a new beginning! She makes cute noises, and ones that obviously mean "I want something-NOW!" and make her parents jump - Speaking of new beginnings, Jim and I have made the momentous decision to be nearer to Ember and her folks. It may seem sudden, but I have been missing my children (all on the West coast) for a long time.Ember became the catalyst. We found a house while we were there, and will make the move in early May. I am very sorry to leave our lovely Drawing Together group just when it is going so well, but I know it can continue, and the Library would like it to, also. The group has been choosing its own drawing subjects each week and deciding on weekly sketching prompts with great success! But a group needs a facilitator to keep it moving forward. If anyone one (or more than one) of you would like to facilitate or co-facilitate please let Tricia and Andy know. I will be here for the next 3 sessions: April 16, 23 & 30.
By Group decision: Please bring ROCKS to draw on Tuesday, April 16th.
The sketching prompt decided on by the group is:
CLOUDS.
There's still time to sketch! We will share our sketching experiences at the beginning of our session. Please enjoy the content below:

Beach Stones graphite drawing by Wellsley artist Debbi Friedman

Stones and rocks seem so humble and simple, although living here by the beach, we are all tempted to pick up one that catches our eye for one reason or another. These artists have found subtle beauty in rocks and allowed others to see it too. This week we can celebrate what we found fascinating while beachcombing by drawing it!
