Greetings!

Thanks for your continued interest in Running And Reading at Rye Public Library!  With our initial orientation session behind us, we get started with our book, continue with our training, and more.  The coming week's session will feature a special guest speaker at 6pm,  as well as discussion of Chapters 1-6 (pgs 1-46) of Born To Run.  Click here for our full schedule

Our run for Tuesday Sept. 4 will once again feature the wide and gentle trails in the Rye Town Forest.

First Session Was A Blast!
Here we are after our initial mile on August 28th. (Looking good everyone!)  Each run will offer multiple options depending on your schedule and how you feel.  Tuesday, we can opt for 1, 1.5, 2, or 3 miles, all starting and finishing at Rye Public Library!

About Born to Run and Chris McDougall
Click here for the Author's website and other links for plenty of info, interviews, etc.  We'll start our discussion of Chapters 1-6 at our Sept. 4 session.

If you're reading the book now, here are the questions to consider for Sept. 4:

Were you drawn into the story and if so, how?

McDougall is not shy in his use of hyperbole. Is this distracting, or inviting?

The Author weaves a tale of quest, characters,  history and location.  What other books come to mind?
Will Smith one more time!

Check out the site for the Sun. Oct. 7 race we can train to run.  I'd suggest registering now if you plan to take part.

Hope you can make our second session next Tuesday evening.  We'll touch base on chapters 1-6, meet with Eric, and hit the trails!  As always, feel free to contact me with any questions!

Cheers,
