Greetings!

Thanks for you interest in Running And Reading!  I wanted to provide some info before our first session.  There is still room for new members, so tell your friends.

We'll distribute books and info tomorrow night, so nothing to read.   The Rye Town Forest is directly across Washington Road from the Library.  We'll do an easy trail run (flat, wide open) of a mile/return/repeat, so you can wrap up at 1 mile, or go out for two.

Check out the site for the Sun. Oct. 7 race we can train to run.  I'd suggest registering now if you plan to take part.

Guest Speaker on Sept. 4 & 18
Eric McCann of Runner's Alley

will join us on Tuesday Sept. 4 for a discussion of effective 5K training and racing, then again of Sept. 18 for a discussion of barefoot running.

About Born to Run and Chris McDougall
Click here for the Author's website and other links for plenty of info, interviews, etc.  We'll start our discussion of Chapters 1-6 at our Sept. 4 session.

If you're reading the book now, here are the questions to consider for Sept. 4:

Were you drawn into the story and if so, how?

McDougall is not shy in his use of hyperbole. Is this distracting, or inviting?

The Author weaves a tale of quest, characters,  history and location.  What other books come to mind?
Hope you can make the first session tomorrow evening.  We'll firm up our schedule and make sure everyone has a book.  The weather looks great, so it should be a nice night for a run.  Feel free to contact me with any questions!

Cheers,
