WINTER REMINDERS - As the Snow Falls...

Removal of Snow and Ice
  • Clear public sidewalks of snow and ice. Village Ordinance requires that residents remove snow and ice from their public sidewalk area within 24 hours of a snowfall.  Also, do not blow or shovel snow from your driveway or mailbox area onto the sidewalk.
  • Do not shovel or blow snow into the street.  This creates a hazardous condition for motorists and unnecessary return trips by the snow plow to clear the streets.  In addition, Village Ordinance  prohibits this action and doing so may result in a fine.
  • Keep your mailbox drive-up area accessible for U.S. Mail vehicles.  Residents are responsible for clearing snow from the curb area around their mailbox after a snowfall so that mail vehicles can access the mailbox for delivery.
  • Adopt a fire hydrant.  Please clear snow away from fire hydrants located near your property.  This effort helps the Fire Department and the Water Utility to manage the water supply system and to quickly respond to emergencies.
Christmas Tree - Curbside Chipping Schedule/Rules:
Mondays - January 11th and 18th
Trees must be curbside by 7:00 a.m. of the collection day.
Do not put trees out more than 24 hours in advance.
Trees must be free of all decorations, wire, hardware, lights, stands and cloth, paper, or plastic covers, and cannot be buried in snow.
The chipper will make only one pass per street side per chipping event.  Disposal of trees after the scheduled chipping dates will be the resident's responsibility.
Advanced Disposal does not pick up trees with trash collection.
