RETIRE YOUR U.S. FLAG PROPERLY

Though the freedom, justice, and sacrifice they represent will live forever, all U.S. flags eventually reach the end of their useful lives.  Honor your old, faded, or damaged American Flags by disposing of them in the proper manner.  Bring your old  flags to Saukville American Legion Post 470, 601 W. Dekora Street, Saukville.  A receptacle is located outside on the southeast corner of the building.  Place your unwanted flags in the receptacle and they will be respectfully retired as outlined by the United States Flag Code.  Contact your Local American Legion with any questions, or if you have a flag you wish to be picked up.
PET WASTE REMINDER

With the beautiful summer weather here, more people are out walking with their pets.  The Village would like to remind all residents to clean up after their pets.   Animal waste, when not properly disposed, can be tracked into homes and even our natural waterways.  Village Ordinance #493 requires pet owners to remove any pet waste immediately after deposit on public or private property not owned or possessed by the pet owner.

Please do your part and keep Saukville clean and healthy for all to enjoy and pick up after your pet.   Remember, leaving this waste (even in plastic bags) is a form of litter.

RECREATIONAL BURNING/FIRE PITS

Village of Saukville Ordinance requires that a burn permit be obtained prior to use of outdoor fire stoves or in-ground pits and that such devices are to be used for recreational burning only.  Approval from the Fire Chief is mandatory before installing a permanent in-ground fire pit.  The permit fee is $15.  Burn permits are valid for the life of your residency at the designated premise.  Contact Village Hall (284-9423) for more info.
