Curbside Branch Chipping - Reminders
null The Village chipper will be touring the Village every Monday through October (no chipping during holiday weeks).  Following are the rules/procedures for  utilizing this service (Ord. #700, Sec. 187-21)
  • Stack branches (3" max. diameter) neatly on the parkway (area between the sidewalk and curb), with the cut ends of branches facing the street by 6:30 a.m. on Monday mornings.

  • DO NOT place branches on the sidewalk or street where they would interfere with pedestrians or vehicle traffic.

  • DO NOT place branches at curbside sooner than the immediate preceding weekend.  We DO NOT chip tree/bush stumps.

  • No Compost

  • The chipping crew is limited to 20 minutes per address, after which a $50 fee is charged for each additional 20 minute at the property owner's request.  The owner will be billed for the additional time beyond the first 20 minutes.

  • The crew will make only one pass per side of the street per chipping event.

  •  Larger limbs, stumps, and/or tree removals are the responsibility of the homeowner and will not be collected or chipped.

Due to the curbside chipping, the Village has a surplus of wood chips available to residents.  Residents can pick up wood chips at the DPW yard waste site at 649 S. Main Street.  Bring your own container and shovel or pitch fork - we do not provide tools.  The DPW will also deliver wood chips, however, residents must accept a full truck load (3-5 yards) and we will not come back for unused wood chips.  To arrange delivery, call the DPW at 284-0545.
