Spring Clean-Up

Yard Waste (Compost) Disposal

How do you get rid of garden waste, leaves, and lawn rakings from your spring yard clean-up?  Wisconsin DNR strongly recommends that these materials NOT be placed in the street at any time.  The Village vacuum truck does not pick up in the spring & summer.  Please place yard waste in bags, buckets, or other suitable containers and bring them to the compost drop-off site at the Department of Public Works yard.

Compost Site is Open - Saturdays Only thru Nov. 14th
900 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
The drop-off site is for Village Residents Only.  Proof of residency may be requested.

null Curbside Branch Chipping will run every Monday thru November 2nd (holiday weeks excluded).

Please stack branches (3" maximum diameter) neatly on the parkway (area between the sidewalk and curb), with cut ends facing the street, by 6:30 a.m. on Monday mornings.  DO NOT place branches on the sidewalk or street.  DO NOT place branches curbside sooner than the immediately preceding weekend.  We DO NOT chip tree stumps.  The chipping crew is limited to 20 minutes per address, after which a $50.00 fee is charged for each additional 20 minutes at the property owner's request.  We will make only one pass per street side per chipping event. There will be NO BRUSH DROP-OFF accepted at the Compost Site.

Summer Playground Program
kids-playgroundThe Village of Saukville offers a Summer Playground Program in conjunction with the Port Washington Parks & Recreation Dept. that includes creative and energetic leaders, active games, theme craft sessions, and fun field trips.  A trip to the Port Washington outdoor pool, Pirates' Hollow, is offered once a week (weather permitting). Children are required to pay their own pool admission, either by pass or by daily fee, and bus fee. Our goal is to offer a safe and worry-free experience for both the child and parent. This is not a day-care program, but rather an afternoon alternative of outdoor fun and structured activities for kids ages 6 through 14. Please Contact Village Hall for more information, (262) 284-9423.
