Emerald Ash Borer in Saukville

EAB insect

The Emerald Ash Borer has been verified by the Wisconsin DNR in Grady Park.  At least nine mature ash trees have been identified that will require removal.  The Department of Public Works will remove any hazardous dead branches first and then fell the main trunks as time and weather permits.  The regional DNR state forester has estimated that the trees have been invaded for at least 4 to 5 years and the drought of 2012-2013 has accelerated the death of the trees.  Click  Here for more information on the Emerald Ash Borer.

Curbside Branch Chipping

null

Final day of curbside branch chipping is Monday, October 28th.
Please place branches curbside by 6:30 a.m. on chipping Mondays.  Do not combine with leaves or yard debris.   Bring any yard debris to the DPW Compost Site at DPW Garage - Open Saturdays only, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through November 16th.  Contact the Dept. of Public Works with any questions at 262-284-0545.

Hydrant Flushing

Thfire hydrante Saukville Water Department will be flushing hydrants throughout the Village between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. October 21st through 24th.  There may be some discoloration in your water during this process.  This is iron and is not harmful.  We recommend that you do not do laundry if your water is discolored.  If you forget and your clothes have a reddish appearance, DO NOT DRY THE CLOTHES; rather rewash in cold water to remove the discoloration.  Running the tap for a short period of time will clear the lines after the flushing is complete.
