New Year's Eve - Plan Ahead to Aviod Impaired Driving | |
Impaired driving claims thousands of lives every year, or approximately one death every 48 minutes.
With New Year's Eve approaching, it is vital that you plan ahead if your celebrations involve alcohol and make plans so that you don't have to drive after drinking.
For example:
- Prior to any drinking, designate a non-drinking driver when with a group.
- Don't let your family or friends drive impaired. Take their keys away if necessary and offer them a place to sleep.
- If you have been drinking, get a ride home or call a taxi.
- If you're hosting a party where alcohol will be served, remind your guests to plan ahead and designate their sober driver, offer alcohol-free beverages, and make sure all guests leave with a sober driver.
Ozaukee Co. Taxi offers FREE service on New Years Eve.
Taxi service will run New Year's Eve from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. on New Year's Day. To arrange for service call 238-TAXI or 284-TAXI (8294).
Stay safe as you gather with family & friends to celebrate 2013! |
