Veolia Is Now Advanced Disposal!
Effective this month, Veolia Trash and Recycling Services will be operated by Advanced Disposal Services. The trucks will be blue and have the new brand name on them as their fleet is changed out. There will be no changes to the way the service is provided. They will continue to use the existing carts, and pick up dates will remain the same. The service number (800-387-0949) and personnel will also remain the same. Likewise, the disposal location will remain at their Horicon landfill.
As before, the recycling schedule for 2013 will be posted on the Village website. |

Attention Taxpayers...
Property Tax bills have been mailed out. The full amount of your property tax bill, or the first installment, is due to the Village of Saukville by January 31, 2013.
Property Tax Payment Information
How the tax bill is distributed: While the full amount of the tax bill is collected by the Village, only a portion of every dollar (.32) is utilized to operate the Village. The remaining amount is distributed to the respective taxing jurisdictions. Below is a breakdown of the dollar distribution:
Please keep in mind:
- In order to deduct your property tax payment off of your 2012 income taxes, it must be paid by December 31, 2012.
- Payments can be made at Village Hall, Port Washington State Bank or BMO Harris (Saukville Branches).
- If you are getting a refund from your escrow account, please go to either Saukville bank branch. You must pay inside, not at drive-through tellers. Bring your tax bill to process payment. Refunds can be processed immediately at these banks.
To download a copy of your bill, go to: http://www.co.ozaukee.wi.us/lrsweb/parcel/search.aspx, - the Ozaukee County Tax Data Search site. |
Winter Returns to Wisconsin

It's official - Winter has arrived! Make sure your vehicles and home are ready.
Here are a few simple things you can do:
Have an emergency winter weather survival kit in your vehicle. Your kit should include water, snack food such as energy bars or raisins, first aid kit, and booster cables. If you have a cell phone, make sure you have a power adapter you can plug into the lighter. You can find more tip kits on our website... http://readywisconsin.wi.gov
Check the roads and take your time. Call 511 or go to www.511wi.gov for the latest road conditions across Wisconsin. The ReadyWisconsin website...http://readywisconsin.wi.gov/511/default.asp provides a regional travel map which covers Wisconsin and surrounding states. Make sure you plan extra time if you travel. Roads may become icy and snow packed. Also, keep at least a half tank of gas in your vehicle in case of an emergency and let friends and family know where you are traveling to and when you should arrive.
Get Supplies for your home. Make sure your home emergency kit is stocked with food that can be stored and eaten without electricity in case there is a power outage. Also make sure you have extra water, flashlights with extra batteries, and medications. The ReadyWisconsin link, http://readywisconsin.wi.gov/kit/GetKit.asp has a complete list of suggested kit items.
Stay informed. ReadyWisconsin will keep you posted on any emergencies that occur during the storm. |
