Annual Christmas Tree Lighting

The annual Village of Saukville Christmas Tree Lighting & Caroling will be Sunday, Dec. 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at Veterans Park.  Afterwards, take the kids on a short walk to Saukville Elementary School to visit with Santa.  Kids can give Santa a wish list and receive a treat!

 

This event is sponsored by the Port Washington-Saukville Jaycees and the Village of Saukville.

Food for Fines

The library's Food For Fines Program runs through December 7th.  Patrons are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items for donation to the Ozaukee County Food Pantry.  Bring in as much or as little as you like to receive up to $5.00 of your Saukville library fines dismissed per library card.  A list of the items most needed during this holiday season will be available (supplied by Family Sharing) at the circulation desk.

Interested in Running for Public Office?

There's no better way to make a difference than by holding public office.  If you are interested in running for Village office, you can pick up nomination papers at Village Hall and begin circulating papers for signatures December 1, 2012.  The deadline for filing nomination papers is Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Village HallContact Mary Kay Baumann, Deputy Clerk, at Village Hall with questions.

  

The Following Terms Will Be Up for Re-election:

Village President and three Trustee positions, term of 2 years each, to succeed:  Barbara Dickmann, Mike Krocka, Dave Maglio, and Joseph Caban whose terms will expire on April 15, 2013.

 

Elections will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013 .

If necessary, a primary will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013.

Winter Reminders

Reminder - Winter parking restrictions run from December 1, 2012 to April 1, 2013.  Ordinance 192-7d requires that "no person shall park any vehicle for more than 30 minutes on any street in the Village of Saukville between the hours of 2:00 and 7:00 a.m." Physicians on emergency calls and persons having special written permission from the Police Department are exempted from the terms of this section.

 

Snow is inevitable - it will get here sooner or later.  Please be sure to shovel the public sidewalk at your property within 24 hours of a snowfall.  Also, remember, if you want mail delivery, please be sure to clear snow from the street area in front of your mailbox so that the mail truck can access your mailbox.

Attention Taxpayers...

HouseTax bills should begin to be mailed out sometime next week.  To download a copy of your bill, go to: http://www.co.ozaukee.wi.us/lrsweb/parcel/search.aspx,  - the Ozaukee County Tax Data Search site. 

Please note:

  • The full amount of your property tax bill, or the first installment, is due to the Village of Saukville by January 31, 2013.
  • In order to deduct your property tax payment off of your 2012 income taxes, it must be paid by December 31, 2012.
  • Payments can be made at Village Hall, Port Washington State Bank or BMO Harris (Saukville Branches).
  • If you are getting a refund from your escrow account, please go to either Saukville bank branch.  You must pay inside, not at drive-through tellers. Bring your tax bill to process payment.  Refunds can be processed immediately at these banks.
