Cold, snow, ice, and slippery roads are coming again. Are you and your vehicle ready?
Now is the time to winterize and gather items for an emergency kit in your vehicle, and make sure you have a NOAA Weather Radio with fresh batteries in your home.

* Check the tread on your tires. More tread equals more traction.
* Replace your wiper blades.
* Top off the windshield washer fluid and keep extra on hand.
* Check the anti-freeze protection level. -20° F or lower is recommended.
* Check battery age and charge level.
* Check for exhaust leaks that could release deadly fumes into the
passenger compartment.
* Keep blanket(s), gloves, hat, boots, flashlight, shovel, cat litter or sand
in the trunk in case you get stuck.
* Have a window scraper and brush within easy reach.
MOST Importantly, get an emergency kit in your car. It could save your life!
Keep in mind that every year there are new or inexperienced drivers driving in the winter for their first time. Increase your following distances and give yourself extra time to stop. Stay far away from maintenance vehicles. When in doubt, slow down!
