"Inspired by Libby" Quilt Auction Runs October 22-November 5
|
As I promised this summer, here is an update on the Inspired by Libby on-line quilt auction. My quilt, as well as 33 others are now available for purchase today through November 5th!
This collection of 34 quilts was created by 33 award winning artists and teachers. !00% of the proceeds will go to Libby's medical fund.
I titled my quilt Radius, to represent how Libby Lehman, a world renowned quilter, is the center of a wide circle of adoring quilters. It was inspired by her Radiant Circles quilts and her quilts of multi-colored leaves.
Go to www.InspiredByLibby.com from October 22 through November 5 and join in on the auction. Simple registration is required and you are ready to bid! If you are at the International Quilt Show Market or Festival in Houston this October, please come by and check out the exhibit in person. There will be a single silent auction quilt available to bid on during Festival, October 29 through November 2, 2014.

Space Available for November Retreat
 For those with spontaneous natures, it's not too late to join my
November Quilt Retreat here in Harpswell, Maine. It was an impromptu addition to the year's retreats and there's still space available. Throw some clothes in one bag, some fabric scraps in another and join in the fun at the historic Harpswell Inn. See the photos below for a peek inside the Leaf Peeper's Retreat this past month.
The dates will be Mon., Nov. 3rd thru Fri. the 7th. This will be a 4 day class with the option of making it a 5 day class. The cost is $520/four days or $650 if you decide to stay the additional day. Prices do not include lodging. However, the Harpswell Inn (where I hold the class) has off-season rates in effect at this time of year (and the snow ain't flying yet!). I plan to cover all class information in the first 4 days. So if you only can come for 4 days (Mon.-Thurs.), you'll have all the instruction you'll need to continue with or complete the quilt. The fifth day (Fri.) will be an extra day of work and coaching from me on your particular quilt.
Here's a description of the retreat:
Price of $520 includes:
* Four-day class
* Lunches each day of class
* Morning and afternoon coffee, tea, and snacks
* Opening night dinner on day prior to start, plus dinner the first and third evenings (Other evening is open for exploring local restaurants)
* Hand and arm massage from a local massage therapist. (Full massage appointments may be scheduled for an extra fee.)
* Visit to Susan's studio for a show of her quilts
