Seeking Route 66 and Crossroads Artwork for Downtown Albuquerque

The Albuquerque Arts Board, and the Route 66 Art Selection Committee are calling all New Mexico artists and designers to submit their ideas for TWO Route 66 public art projects.
Both of these projects seek to commemorate and celebrate the Camino Real, the pre-1937 Route 66 alignment (4th St.), the post-1937 Route 66 alignment (Central Ave.), and the future of this unique intersection in Downtown Albuquerque.
The first Call for Art is for graphic designs that illustrate these themes. The designs will be turned into cast metal commemorative markers that will be installed on all four corners of the intersection.
The second Call for Art is for an artwork that can also serve a function (bench, kiosk) and utilizes classic Route 66 iconography.
The deadline for both of these projects is Friday, November 7th, at 5:00pm MST.
Please visit our "Opportunities for Artists" page to find all of our Calls for Art!
