Have any Old Photos of Public Art or Murals in Albuquerque?

In connection with the 2015 city wide exhibition titled: "On the Map: Unfolding Albuquerque Art + Design", the Public Art Program is looking for historic photographs of public art and art in public spaces from around Albuquerque, especially historic murals that may no longer exist. These photographs may be used in the exhibition to illustrate the dynamic and evolving nature of our city's dedication to being a city of art!
Historic photographs may include images of artworks that no longer exist, public art unveilings and dedications, works in the process of being completed, or artworks that have changed over time.
With each submission please include as much information you may have. Please also include your name and contact information.
Send image materials in either JPG or TIFF format, of at least 180-pixel resolution, to: Publicart@cabq.gov

Celebrate Desert Primrose at Academy Hills Park on Saturday, 9/227

Come and celebrate the Albuquerque Public art Program's newest public artwork, "Desert Primrose" by Karen Yank. Part of the City-wide Sculpture project, this steel sculpture references the heartiness and beauty of desert flora. The dedication coincides with the grand unveiling of the newly renovated Academy Hills Park and the Academy Hills Neighborhood Association Fall Festival. Come celebrate with us! Call for Art at CNM

The CNM Foundation is seeking to commission an artistic image that will help celebrate CNM's 50th anniversary and convey the essence of our community college's tremendously positive impact on central New Mexico through the past five decades. CNM's vision is "Changing Lives, Building Community." Those seeking to submit must be a currently enrolled CNM student or CNM alumni as outlined in the prospectus. Current CNM employees are not eligible to submit. $2,000 total will be awarded the finalist whose design is selected. Applications are due October 13th at noon. Read the full prospectus here.

Grantsmanship Training Program

The Grantsmanship Center is coming to Albuquerque for a 5-day training program, and would like to offer a $50 discount to the Urban Enhancement Trust Fund network. When registering, use promo code UETF50. We also offer half-scholarships to nonprofits with budgets less than $500,000. Please call for more details.
The training takes place September 29-October 3, 2014, and is hosted by University of New Mexico Continuing Education .
