Downtown Albuquerque "Iconic" Art Design Competition
The Albuquerque Arts Board, the Albuquerque Public Art Program and the On the Map Downtown Design Competition Committee are calling all New Mexicans to share their ideas for an iconic artwork for Downtown Albuquerque. This is an ideas competition, and finalist designs may or may not result in further consideration for a real public art project. However, finalist designs will be put on display at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History during the On the Map exhibition in spring 2015. The Albuquerque Arts Board and the BioPark Botanic Garden High Desert Rose Garden Art Selection Committee have announced a call for art for the future High Desert Rose Garden. The project will incorporate 2-4 works of art crafted from, or inspired by, natural materials, into the visual screen of the west wall of the garden. The Art Selection Committee will consider a variety of media and styles for this project, including, but not limited to, stone, metal, wood or other media that integrates well with the natural environment of a garden wall.
