Come Celebrate The Guardians!

"The Guardians" by Nora Naranjo-Morse at Altura Park
|
Join us as we dedicate "The Guardians," on Saturday, February 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Altura Park, in a ceremony that will include members of the Albuquerque Arts Board and other dignitaries, along with Espaņola, NM artist, Nora Naranjo-Morse, who designed the new artwork.
"These forms are meant to be guardians of the neighborhood, sentinels that symbolize the spirit of the community," said Naranjo-Morse. "The shapes of houses, trees, even the worn path walkers in the park have made, became vital pieces of information in making the sculptures."
Come welcome the new sculptures! The event is free and open to the public. Bring your friends and family! You can RSVP on our Facebook page!

Come Celebrate Suspense!
 | |
"Suspense" by Michael Metcalf at the Jeanne Bellamah Community Center and Park
|
Join us for another dedication ceremony on Saturday, February 8, from 10 am to 2 pm as we welcome "Suspense" into the Public Art Collection. The new sculpture was created by Silver City artist, Michael Metcalf, and compliments the newly finished renovation of the Jeanne Bellamah Community Center.
The sculpture consists of a granite boulder from the Gila National Forest suspended by sleek welded stainless steel spires. According to the artist, the sculpture "implies the contrast between humanity and nature, as both durable materials will most likely outlast our current civilization, hinting at that precarious symbiotic relationship."
Join us and bring your friends and family. The event is free and open to the public. You can RSVP on our Facebook page!
