Sundowner Art Sign Call for Light-based Artwork!

The Albuquerque Arts Board and the Sundowner Art Sign Selection Committee have initiated a 1% for Art project open to artists residing in the United States. The project intent is to commission a light-based (neon or LED or other) artwork for the Sundowner Mixed-Use Housing Development. The artwork will be incorporated into or onto the old Sundowner Motel sign structure that sits along Central Ave. (see image above). This is NOT a call for signage design, but a call for a light-based ARTWORK.
Deadline for proposals is Friday, November 1, 2013 at 4:00PM Mountain Time.

Woodcarvers and Chainsaw Artists, Submit Your Qualifications!

The Albuquerque Arts Board and the Albuquerque BioPark Zoo have initiated a request for qualifications open to artists residing in the United States. The project intent is to give opportunities to artists working primarily in wood to carve one of several weather damaged trees at the BioPark Zoo. At the time that Zoo staff locates a suitable tree for carving, the Arts Board will select an artist from this pool to create a design and budget proposal.
Deadline to submit qualifications is Friday, December 6, 2013 at 4:00PM Mountain Time.
