Bear Canyon Bridge Before Public Art Lighting

The Bear Canyon Bridge Public Art Lighting Project is fully installed and will be turned on TONIGHT, May 24th! The lighting project, designed by Tillett Lighting Design in New York, NY, is about water, light, and changing perspectives. By using dichroic glass filters, the bridge lighting contains subtle changes in hue and intensity. Visit the bridge and see for yourself how magical the experience is.

Route 66 Wayfinding Designs, Development, and Installation
!



The City of Albuquerque is seeking an artist-lead design team (Design Team) to conceptualize, design, engineer, fabricate and install Wayfinding sign/art elements (Wayfinding Elements) along Historic Route 66 in Albuquerque from Tramway Blvd. to 98th Street, in an effort to foster economic development and preservation efforts along the Route 66 National Scenic Byway in Albuquerque. This project is open to artists and designers residing in the United States.

The project budget is $150,000, and the deadline to submit qualifications is Thursday, June 6th, 2013 at 5:00 pm, local time.

Final Convention Center Mosaic Dedication Ceremony, June 22nd, 2013!

 The dedication ceremony for the final section of the Convention Center mosaic is planned for Saturday, June 22nd at 5:00pm. This 13 year project is a collaboration between The Public Art Program, Harwood Art Center, the Mayor's Art Summer Institute, lead artist Cassandra Reid and numerous local youth. This event is not to be missed! Mark your calendars now to come celebrate this amazing public artwork!

for a Night of Performance Art!


Artist Sibylle Szaggers-Redford

Join the Albuquerque Film and Media Experience on June 8th, 2013, from 6:00-8:00pm at the Hiland Theater for a spectacular night of performance art and music!

The incredible journey will feature Mrs. Sibylle Szaggars-Redford's artwork coming to life on stage with a live piano performance by Icelandic composer and musician, David Thor Jonsson and a beautiful dance interpretation, choreographed by NDI Founding Artistic Director Catherine Oppenheimer, and a special poetry reading by Robert Redford. The evening includes a pre-show cocktail reception at the Hiland Theater. And while you're in the area, check out the orphan sign public art project
