Blue Trees Project Coming to Albuquerque
This Friday and Saturday!

The Blue Tree Project is an international art event coming to Albuquerque through the efforts of Tree New Mexico and the Public Art Program. The Australian artist, Konstantin Dimopoulos, is coming to our city for a celebration of Earth Day and the unsung role of trees in our community.

As the seventh city in the United States to host The Blue Tree Project, Albuquerque is proud to be on the leading edge of this engaging art installation.

Two events are planned. The first is THIS Friday at Tingley Beach. The second is THIS Saturday at the 4th Street Mall. Attend one or both events!

Film Screening at the Albuquerque Museum!

Center of the City Markers

Join the Albuquerque Historical Society at the Albuquerque Museum on April 21st at 2:00pm for a FREE screening of Marking Time: The Center of the City Project. The Albuquerque Public Art program was inspired to find the 1912 and 2012 geographical centers of Albuquerque after publication of a story by Leslie Linthicum of the Albuquerque Journal. A 30 minute film with much archival footage, produced by Tony de la Flora, will describe the search. Director of the City's Public Art Program, Sherri Bruggemann, will describe the public art pieces commissioned to mark these two areas.
