Celebrate Women in Creativity while Touring Some Amazing Art!
The Albuquerque and Bernalillo County Public Art Programs are co-hosting a special event celebrating numerous contributions of women artists. This Sunday, March 10th, take a self-guided tour of over a dozen public artworks in the Valley created by women. Arts Board members, and in some cases the artists themselves, will be stationed at various artworks from 1-4pm to answer any questions and talk about the artworks. Download the map and tour guide and join us on Sunday, 3/10, as we celebrate women in creativity!
... and, while you're out and about on Sunday, be sure to check out the two newest "art fence" installations at the ABQ BipPark... The ABQ BioPark is installing two works of art that were commissioned by the Public Art Program back in 2006, but have been in storage while the plans for the fence were finalized. The public art fence sections by Jim Gallucci and Danielle Miller now get to be out in the public! Enjoy the new fence line along Route 66 at Central and New York Ave.
