Celebrate Women in Creativity while Touring Some Amazing Art!
The Albuquerque and Bernalillo County Public Art Programs are co-hosting a special event celebrating numerous contributions of women artists. On Sunday, March 11th, take a self-guided tour of over a dozen public artworks in the Valley created by women. Volunteers, and in some cases the artists themselves, will be stationed at various artworks from 1-4pm to answer any questions and talk about the artworks. Visit the Annual Metro Youth Art Show at the State Fairgrounds!
Make sure you visit the Metro Youth Art Show at the State Fairgrounds Fina Art Gallery between Friday March 1st, and Saturday March 30th, 2013. The show exhibits more than 1,500 artworks by students from across Albuquerque. The opening is Friday, March 1st from 5:00 - 7:00pm. Hours for the show are Tuesday - Friday: 3:00-6:00pm and Saturday & Sunday: 1:00-5:00pm. High school music ensembles will play each weekend of the exhibit.
In keeping with our tradition, a committee was formed of Arts Board members to purchase artworks from the show to be included in the City of Albuquerque Public Art Collection.
