Lancer Legacy Gala - March 12
And the countdown begins...4 weeks until Notre Dame's Fifth Annual Lancer Legacy Gala which will will take place on March 12, 2016 at Sacred Heart University.  Please plan on attending this event as this is Notre Dame's biggest fundraiser of the year and supports activities, technology, Campus Ministry, and Notre Dame's continued growth.  It's a great way to have a fun evening with your spouse or a group of friends and another way to meet members, both past and present, of the Notre Dame community!

A special Gala evite was sent to all parents. Please don't forget to RSVP. All ND parents who purchase a Gala ticket will have their name entered into a drawing for a $500 tuition credit.

There are several ways you can support this year's event including purchasing tickets or sponsoring the event, purchasing an ad in the Gala Program, or donating a gift or service to our auction (suggestions can be found on the Gala Giving Tree located in the Main Office).  Students returning an item for the auction will get a dress down day in the spring.

For more information, please click here to log on to the Gala website. If you have any questions about this great event, please email Theresa Marzik at tmarzik@notredame.org.

Info Pro Students Make Comics
Students in Mr. Manzo's and Mrs. Marko's Information Processing Class utilized Photoshop and ComicLife to create multi-panel comic strips. They used storyboards to come up with the idea, took digital photos, then manipulated these photos in Photoshop to give them a 'comic' feel. The photos were then inserted into a program called ComicLife and speech bubbles and text were added. This was a cooperative group project with up to 3 students in a group.
Art Students Make 3-D Bugs
Students in Mr. Testani's art classes made 3D Bugs & Henna hands. Some of the hands are on display in the media center's window.

Convivio
Convivio is being held on March 4, 5 and 6 at Sacred Heart University. Convivio is an International congress for youth that is organized by the Marian Community of Reconciliation and sponsored by the Diocese of Bridgeport. Over the past 30 years, Convivio congresses have been held in Australia, England, the Philippines, Angola and many countries in South America, and thousands of teenagers have gathered with other young people to search for meaning in their lives and find answers to the problems of contemporary society.

Convivio gives young people the opportunity to ask essential questions about their lives, the world around them and their faith. Convivio is different from other youth events because students participate in small group discussions, led by other youth, that are based on talks given by various speakers. In small groups, the young people reach conclusions that they later present to the larger group. The Convivio weekend includes time for Mass, the sacrament of Reconciliation, Eucharistic adoration, games, socializing, music and skits.

Alumni Association Update
Be A Part of ND's 60th Anniversary
Notre Dame High School was founded in 1955 by the Most Reverend LawrenceSheehan. In 1955, construction of Notre Dame High School began on Park Avenue in Bridgeport. In 1956, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur began teaching Notre Dame's first class of girls at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Fairfield while the high school was being built. Finally, in September of 1957, 1,000 students (freshmen and sophomores, boys and girls) walked through the doors of Notre Dame High School on Park Avenue.

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Notre Dame (the oldest high school in the Diocese of Bridgeport) we are planning a year-long celebration of events which will begin in September, 2016 and run through September, 2017. We are looking for alumni, alumni parents, current parents, faculty (past and present), and friends of Notre Dame to help us plan this extraordinary event in our school's history.

If you would like to be a part of the celebration, please contact Theresa Marzik at tmarzik@notredame.org.
