Thanksgiving Food Drive Success
Mrs. Miller, Miss Z and the Key Club would like to express their gratitude to everyone who contributed to the annual food drive. We were able to deliver 255 turkeys (a 25% increase over last year) and many boxes of food to Sr. Theresa and the Daughters of Charity. We are humbled and overwhelmed by your generosity. May you and your family have a blessed and safe Thanksgiving.

In addition, students who earned a 90 or higher

Students Attend Production of Twelfth Night
A group of about forty Notre Dame students visited the Edgerton Center on Wednesday to see Sacred Heart University's Theater Arts production of Twelfth Night.  Shakespeare's comedy about love, loss, and mistaken and assumed identity starred ND alumnus Dan Murphy '13 as the Duke of Orsino and used Elizabethan costume and staging.  The production was a lively and funny expression of Shakespeare's wit and wisdom.
Fairfield U Student Nurses Visit ND
On Wednesday, student nurses from the Fairfield University School of Nursing visited Notre Dame and conducted an annual health fair for freshmen. Foreign Language Department Keeps Busy
Mrs. Guarino's Spanish 4 and 5 classes composed original poems describing themselves, their likes and needs. As part of the written requirement, students were asked to design and decorate mini posters containing their poem and illustrations of its contents.
The Spanish 3 High Honors and Honors classes enthusiastically await their new unit on Texting. Texting is currently an essential part of the Advanced Placement Program and is part of the AP Exam.

Mrs. Morales' Spanish classes prepared for a cultural study centered around El Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead) which is celebrated in Mexico on November 1 and 2. In conjunction with the Catholic feast days of All Saints and All Souls Day, El Día de los Muertos honors and remembers those who have died. The sophomore high honors class learned about the preparations involved by means of creating dioramas of traditional ofrendas (offerings) for the dead while the college prep classes learned how to make Calaveras de Azúcar, a sweet treat commonly made in Mexico. Junior students re-visited this cultural theme by watching the recent film The Book of Life in Spanish and making collage posters of the different elements of the holidays.

Alumni Association Update
Be A Part of ND's 60th Anniversary
Notre Dame High School was founded in 1955 by the Most Reverend Lawrence Sheehan.
In 1955, construction of Notre Dame High School began on Park Avenue in Bridgeport. In 1956, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur began teaching Notre Dame's first class of girls at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Fairfield while the high school was being built. Finally, in September of 1957, 1,000 students (freshmen and sophomores, boys and girls) walked through the doors of Notre Dame High School on Park Avenue.

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Notre Dame (the oldest high school in the Diocese of Bridgeport) we are planning a year-long celebration of events which will begin in September, 2016 and run through September, 2017. We are looking for alumni, alumni parents, current parents, faculty (past and present), and friends of Notre Dame to help us plan this extraordinary event in our school's history.

If you would like to be a part of the celebration, please contact Theresa Marzik at tmarzik@notredame.org.
