Last Friday, September 25, the annual freshman retreat was held at school. The theme of the day was "Faith Survival Skills". Students participated in a teaching mass, adoration, played games, talked in small groups, drew the ideal ND friend, watched some movie clips, performed skits, and made lunch sacks for the Daughters of Charity Food Pantry in Bridgeport. Thanks to Mr. St. Onge, Mr. Vigliotta and the upperclass retreat leaders who assisted Fr. Luke and
Ms. Medoff.

Career Night at Notre Dame
The Notre Dame Alumni Association will host a Student Career Night on Wednesday, October 28 at 6:30 pm.  This event will provide students with a broad understanding of professional careers. Alumni are one of the greatest resources for career insight and advice since, after all, they have found success and they know what it takes to get there.  This is a great opportunity for our alumni to share work experiences with Notre Dame students. Please contact the Alumni Office at tmarzik@notredame.org for more information.

Be A Part of ND's 60th Anniversary
Notre Dame High School was founded in 1955 by the Most Reverend Lawrence Sheehan, who declared that it was his belief "The future of our country depends on our youth.  To provide them with a sound religious and moral training is a major concern of all of us."
In 1955, construction of Notre Dame High School began on Park Avenue in Bridgeport.

In 1956, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur began teaching Notre Dame's first class of girls at Our Lady of the Assumption School in Fairfield while the high school was being built. Finally, in September of 1957, 1,000 students (freshmen and sophomores, boys and girls) walked through the doors of Notre Dame High School on Park Avenue.

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Notre Dame (the oldest high school in the Diocese of Bridgeport) we are planning a year-long celebration of events which will begin in September, 2016 and run through September, 2017.

We are looking for alumni, alumni parents, current parents, faculty (past and present), and friends of Notre Dame to help us plan this extraordinary event in our school's history.

If you would like to be a part of celebration, please contact Theresa Marzik at tmarzik@notredame.org.  The first meeting of the 60th Anniversary Committee will take place on Monday, November 2 at 7:00 pm in the ND library.
Advancement Office Updates ...
2015 Walk-a-thon - Let's Talk the Walk!!!
Notre Dame's annual Walk-a-thon will take place on Friday, October 23. Letters and pledge sheets were mailed home to all school families this week. Please click here to view this information.

The ND Walk-a-thon is our only student-driven fundraiser of the year.  This year students will have the opportunity to designate to what school initiative they want their donation to be applied: Campus Ministry, Athletics, Technology.

We are asking each student to raise $100 in sponsorships and our goal is to raise $30,000.  Raising $100 is as simple as getting 10 sponsors to donate $10 or 20 sponsors to donate $5. Ask your friends, family, local businesses, etc.  We have a number of great incentives for all participants.

The day of the Walk-a-thon, our students will walk a three mile course around our campus followed by our annual "Class Wars" competition.  Classes will compete against one another for class bragging rights.  Class t'shirts are available for sale from Monday, October 5 through Friday, October 9. We hope all students will show their class spirit by purchasing a t'shirt.  The order form is available in the main office, Mrs. Marzik's office or by clicking on this link.

If you have any questions, please contact Theresa Marzik at tmarzik@notredame.orgAnd don't forget...Let's Talk the Walk!!!

Lancer Legacy Gala
