The Drowsy Chaperone a Success

Congratulations to the cast and crew of the Drowsy Chaperone for three very successful shows last weekend at Sacred Heart University's Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts. All in attendance raved about the show and the hard work put forth by all involved. Special thanks to Director Maria Vee and those staff members involved in the months of preparation for the show: Mr. St. Onge, Mr. Chuba, Mrs. Hong and Mrs. Marzik. Thanks, as well, to all the parent volunteers who assisted in so many ways during the show's run.

Spring Arts Festival

Congratulations to all the students and staff involved in the annual Spring Arts Festival held on Tuesday evening and restaged on Wednesday for the student body. In addition to the chorus, band and dance classes performing, student solo and group acts entertained the audiences. Sam DeMattio '15 and Samantha Sainvil '15 MC-ed the concert.

English Department Update
The English department is as busy as can be. The freshmen just finished One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest , while the sophomores are just beginning Twelve Angry Men. The Juniors are deep into The Great Gatsby, having just finished To Kill A Mockingbird. They are also completing Huck Finn.  The seniors are getting ready for finals and graduation. It is hard to believe that the year is almost over. Stay tuned for our summer reading selections, including a school wide book.

Spanish Classes Attend Mexican Luncheon
The Spanish 4 and 5 classes attended a Mexican luncheon on Wednesday, May 13.  Students watched as the chef prepared a fresh guacamole for the group to savour.  Entrees included typical Tex-Mex meals like tacos, burritos and enchiladas.  Students not only enjoyed authentic Mexican cuisine, but actually had the opportunity to listen to and speak Spanish! Olé!

Ascension Thursday Mass
On Thursday, the school community gathered in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit on the Sacred Heart University campus for Ascension Thursday mass. ND Chaplain, Fr. Luke Suarez celebrated mass and reminded the school community that "they are never alone".

Senior Class Picnic
The senior class traveled to High Meadow in Granby on Friday for their class picnic. In between swimming, basketball, volleyball and frisbee, the students had an endless supply of food, and enjoyed a hypnotist, lip-sync contest and a non-stop schedule of activities. Pictured below is the tug-of-war champion team!

Support the Wrestling Team
ND wrestling finished their first year as a program and had a fantastic season. Please help ND Wrestling grow as a program by donating any amount toward the purchase of a new mat. Click here to visit the team's Go Fund Me page.
