Thank you to everyone who attended and helped to make the fundraising event at Gaetano's Italian Steakhouse on November 15 a huge success. Over $1,000 was raised to benefit the school and students.

A Letter of Thanks From Sister Eileen Boffa
Dear Care Club of Notre Dame,

I can't thank you enough for your tremendous help on Thursday, October 30. Your positive energy, willing attitude, and organizational skills made what would have been an overwhelming task for me to tackle alone, so simple and so beautifully accomplished. All the items you arranged and packed remain in their same locations as I continue to look for a new home for it all...

Do you recall the wonderful collection of warm clothes you brought from the students of Notre Dame? Every single item is gone! People were so appreciative. I recall one man in particular who was outfitted with a scarf, thick sweater, gloves and hat. His eyes were bursting with tears as he said to me, "I've been so cold at night in an abandoned building. This will help me a lot. God is good to me." Well, Notre Dame Care Club, God has worked through you once again!

I am so grateful to each of you, members of the Care Club. Never lose your caring hearts...they change a world! Blessings on you through the holiday and always.

SAT Prep

Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leaders is launching its 6th annual SAT prep program for Bridgeport high school students. An Orientation will be held on December 6, 2014 for both student and parent. The orientation is mandatory due to a pre-test assessment. The course runs from January 2015 to March 2015 and will be held Saturday mornings from 9:00 - 1:00 on the University of Bridgeport campus. Due to a partnership with UB, Caribe is able to keep the program fee very low for students ($70) and all costs go to cover books, materials and college tours. If you are currently a junior from Bridgeport please consider learning more about the program as space is limited. The last 5 classes have recorded at least 100 point improvement in their SAT test compared to pre-test! Click here for more information.

Guidance Department News...

Important Deadlines for Seniors *Revised*

Transcripts

If seniors wish to have transcripts sent to colleges before Christmas Break, they need to request that information on Naviance before December 5.  Any request after this date will not be processed until after we return to school on January 5, 2015.

Applications

Please make sure you give each of the counselors at least 3-4 days to fill out any scholarship information needed for applications. If any student comes in a day before or the day of a deadline, the counselors will be unable to complete this task. Please know when your deadlines are, and please give time for counselors to complete forms.

Also...

Meet with your counselor at least two weeks before your application deadline.  Please have your student assessment form completed as well as asking teachers for recommendations.  This will allow the Guidance Office plenty of time to process the required paper work and allow teacher(s) the time to write recommendations by your college deadlines.

Scholarship Information

All seniors should be checking the scholarship list on Naviance.

When the Guidance Office receives any scholarship information it will be posted on Naviance under "Scholarships". Students should read the criteria to know that the scholarship is for their use.
