AIEP, a Connecticut-based homestay organization that works closely with Notre Dame, is seeking host families for Chinese students arriving in mid-January. Interested families would commit to hosting a student for 5 months until the end of the school year, and may host again for the following 2014-15 school year if interested. Host families are responsible for providing a private bedroom, transportation to/from school (carpooling and busing where available) and meals throughout the week and weekend - and most of all, providing a loving, caring family environment while they are in the U.S. Interested families may host up to 2 students, and will receive a $1,000 monthly stipend to offset the costs of hosting. Notre Dame will be welcoming a group of four to seven eighth grade students from China (and a teacher) during the last week of January. The company coordinating this program, EduBoston, is seeking interested families to host these potential future Notre Dame students for the week.
