Congratulations to...
... Cheyenne Perez '16 who participated in the first annual Vicki Soto 5K on November 2 in Stratford. The race was held in picturesque Lordship. The Lordship race was in honor of Victoria Soto, the Newtown teacher from Stratford who was slain in the school shooting on December 14, 2012. More than 2,100 people participated. Proceeds will benefit the Vicki Soto Memorial Fund, which was established in January to help local high school students pursue a career in teaching.

... Mario Nunes '15 and Brandon Chang '15 who made it to the finals of the Notre Dame Chess Championship. In the end, Mario was crowned the winner. Congratulations to both students for making it to the finals.
Thank You ...
The Notre Dame Music Department extends its heartfelt thanks to a Class of 1961 graduate who recently donated a beautiful organ for student and faculty use.

Art & Nature Class
The students in Mr. Testani's Art & Nature class made their way outside while the weather was still nice and went stick gathering. Each student chose their stick and was asked to paint an organic pattern on it. Once all of the students completed their designs, they were glossed so the sticks could withstand some weather while being hung out in front of the school. Key Club Turkey and Food Drive

On Thursday, November 21, the Key Club, led by Miss Z and Mrs. Miller will be at the front entrance of Notre Dame collecting frozen turkeys for the poor. Once again we have partnered with Sister Theresa and the Sisters of Charity to help poor families in the greater Bridgeport area. This is an annual drive and we are very proud of our previous efforts. We are looking to collect at least 250 turkeys as well as other food items (click here to view the list of what is needed). It is a privilege to be able to help the poor and to help us live our motto: to be imitators of Christ. Please help us reach our goal and donate a frozen turkey - any size - on Thursday, November 21. If you have any questions please contact Miss Z or Mrs. Miller. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Care Club Collections

The Care Club is collecting items for two different service projects. The first is a "Project From the Heart". We are asking each student to donate at least one item for our service people in Afghanistan from the lists posted in their homerooms. Boxes of supplies will be delivered in time for Christmas. Money donations for shipping costs are also gratefully accepted. If you would like a box sent to someone you know, please leave their address in the donation box located in the library.

The second project is with Sister Eileen Boffa and the Bridgeport Homeless Project. Sister is asking for donations of new or used "hoodies" (parkas). They can be left in the library. Any questions? Please contact Janet Haffner at Notre Dame and thank you for caring.
