Students Act as Crime Scene Investigators Mr. Sakal's Forensics class has been seen around the ND campus this past week solving crimes. Students are learning how to secure a crime scene by doing practicals. Once coming upon a crime scene, the site is blocked off with caution tape, evidence is numbered, photographed and entered in as evidence. Each piece of evidence is measured for its location within the crime scene. Students then create a sketch of the crime scene and by the end of the practical, they are able to reconstruct the crime. Look for future adventures of CSI-ND around campus. Students Create Art With Nature The Art and Nature class took advantage of the beautiful weather this week and took their art outside to work on some nature whispering around the school grounds. The students gathered leaves, rocks & flowers to create designs & art around the school yard. Above, Bayley McKeon '16, Elaaine Jackson '16, Matt Merced '16, William Kelly '16, Gabby Valencia '16, Emily Morris '14 and Rachel Watcke '16 are caught in action creating their designs. Below are images of designs created by (from left to right) Rachel Watcke '16, Emily Wonsiewicz '15 and Bayley McKeon '16 and Elaaine Jackson '16. Senior Class Mass
Fr. Bill celebrated mass for the senior class on Friday morning in the Chapel. Class masses will be celebrated each Friday during the school year on a rotating schedule. Special thanks to Fr. Bill and Fr. Cipriani for their assistance in making these masses possible.

A local agency is looking for a caring and dedicated family to host an international student in their home. The family will receive $1,000 as a monthly stipend. This is an excellent opportunity for a family with children that wants to provide and also receives a mutually beneficial cultural experience. The student is currently attending Notre Dame (and is a male in the eleventh grade). The student is friendly and well mannered. Contact Lynn Liu at yuejie.liu@gmail.com. All emails will be replied to in a timely manner. We look forward to hearing from you & partnering in this exciting and enriching adventure.

Open House Lawn Signs Are In...
|
Operation Lawn Sign
With Notre Dame's annual Open House right around the corner, we would like to solicit everyone's help in spreading the word to prospective families. In an effort to get the word out, we have purchased several hundred Open House lawn signs. The goal for this campaign is to get a sign on the front lawn of 100% of our families. This campaign will increase our school's awareness in local communities, and bring more prospective families to the forefront. The campaign involve the following steps:
- Email Gaetano Marra, Director of Admissions, at marra@notredame.org
- Request your lawn sign to be picked up in his office at your convenience, or give permission for us to place the sign on your lawn. (Yes, he will come to you!)
- Once the lawn signs are up, we are asking families to take a photo in front of the sign, and email that back to Mr. Marra.
- We will be getting these photos on all of our social media networks, and work towards continuing to grow our enrollment.
- We request that all signs be returned the week after Open House, which is Sunday, October 20th.
Remember, our goal is 100% participation. Can you help?
Mr. Marra looks forward to hearing back from all of our families. With your help, we will continue to grow our school and show local families just how phenomenal a Catholic education at Notre Dame truly is.

Last Week to Vote For ND ...
|
This year, Target will give money to schools all over the country for one simple act: a vote. For each vote, our school will get $1. As of September 13, Notre Dame was still the top vote-getting school in Connecticut ... but we need the votes to keep coming! Did you already vote? You can vote once every five days ... So please remember that, although the gesture is small, the rewards are potentially huge. Go to GiveWith.Target.com to vote for Notre Dame Catholic High School once a week through September 21 or until Target has given away all $5 million. And please forward this message to your friends. Vote and see rules at GiveWith.Target.com.
