Freshman Field Day On Friday, April 26, the freshmen class hosted grades 3 through 6 of Hall Elementary School in Bridgeport for a very successful and fun-filled field day. A very special thanks to all the freshmen who, for that day, were someone's big brother or sister. The beautiful weather made an already great day even better. A special note of thanks to our Seniors who participated in field day. These Seniors had the daunting task of ensuring that all field day activities ran smoothly and they greatly succeeded in providing the Hall kids, as well as our own, with a memorable day: Victoria Kuhn, Juliette Rivera, Jess Clark, Jennifer Mezzapelle, Mike King, Cory McDonald, Michelle Scatamacchia, Bianca Bertier, Erik Laaksonen, Anthony Searles, PJ DeFilippo, Ashley Fulton, Caitlin Dudek, Lauren Puskar, Conroy Johnson, Kereece Williams, Madi Guman, Lauren Jones, Sal Sereno, Dan Murphy, Aly Furgiuele, Allison Rohr, Matt Heim, Laura Pekar, Taylor Springer, Thomas Bergamasco, Leslie Ann Heslop, McKenzie Stone, Michael Lenard, Sandie Samrin, RJ Cremin, Steve Meyer, Tyler Lehren and Mark Salvioli.
Junior Prom
The Class of 2014 held their Junior Prom this past Friday at Grassy Hill Country Club in Orange. Night in the City was the prom theme. The ballroom glittered in silver with purple accents. The group danced all night and selected Winston Crumb and Colleen O'Reilly as the prince and princess and Karissa Cook and Charlie Fallon as the queen and king. Everyone had a great time. Mustache Madness - Appalachia Fundraiser
Sean Cronan '14 and Mr. Philipp led a fundraiser to help defray the costs of the Appalachia Club service trip in June. Sean, assisted by family members, made a variety of chocolate mustache pops. The following students helped sell the pops during lunch waves: Manny Rosales '14, Dan McCarthy '14, Joe Gomolson '15, Lauren Jones '13, Caitlin Lonergan '15, Morgan Sweeney '15, Mitch Hall '14, and Sean Cronan '14. Their efforts resulted in the sale of over 350 pops! The sales, combined with an anonymous contribution, totaled $475.
Art Classes Work on Color Diffusion
Students in Mr. Testani's art classes are working on color diffusion. Color diffusion is when water-based paint is diluted by filtering water through diffusion paper, creating random colors and interesting tie-dye-type patterns. These projects can be seen in the cafeteria windows or online at http://ndart2013.tumblr.com/. | | Juliette Rivera '13, Tyanna Palmer '13 and Young Ji Kang '14 . |
