Parent/Guardian Appreciation Day - This Wednesday

As part of Catholic Schools Week, Notre Dame will be celebrating Parent/Guardian Appreciation Day on Wednesday, January 30. Parents are invited to mass at 7:30 am in the Chapel and/or for coffee, bagels and muffins in the library from 7:30 - 9:00 am. This is just a small way to say thank you for all you do for Notre Dame and your child.

ND's Lancer Legacy Gala

Notre Dame's Lancer Legacy Gala will take place on Thursday, March 14. If you remember, this event was originally scheduled for November but was rescheduled because of Hurricane Sandy. The committee's next planning meeting is on Tuesday, January 29th at 5:00 in the library -- everyone interested in helping to make this year's Gala a success is invited to attend. We need everyone's help & talents to make this event a success.   If you have any questions, please contact Theresa Marzik in our Advancement Office at 203-372-6521/ marzik@notredame.org. Important Gala Links: Gala Invitation, Response Card, Auction Letter, Donation Form

2013-14 Financial Aid Forms

Families who would like to apply for financial assistance for the 2013-14 school year, must submit a new aid application after your 2012 tax return is complete. The deadline to file this application is April 1, 2013. Applicants who file after this date may not receive assistance. Click here to download an application. Families MUST re-apply for financial assistance annually.

Prom Limousine Information

Notre Dame recently received the following information from the State of Connecticut Bureau of Public Transportation. The Bureau provided important information parents and students should ask a limousine service if planning to hire a limo for Prom transportation:
1) Do you have a Connecticut Intrastate Authority?
2) What is your Connecticut permit number?
3) Will you be servicing my needs with a Connecticut livery or bus plated vehicle?

Personnel from the state often visit Prom locations and inspect limousines. We have seen limos taken out of service at a Prom, forcing parents to pick up their children after the event ends. A properly licensed vehicle will have a license plate that begins and ends with the letter "L", is white in color, and has the word "Livery" on it.

Parent Volunteers

All parents who volunteer or are interested in volunteering at Notre Dame are reminded that the Diocese of Bridgeport requires all volunteers to take an awareness training session called Protecting God's Children. This is a special 3-hour training that teaches adults in the Catholic community to create safer environments and become part of the solution to prevent child abuse.  To register for the awareness training, please go to http://www.virtusonline.org and select Registration. Then select Bridgeport, CT. You will be directed to the most current schedule of upcoming sessions in the area. All participants who attend this training will receive a card as proof of attendance.

Attention Students in AP Classes

All AP students are to submit payment and their information form to their AP teacher by Friday, February 1. Only one form is necessary per student. If any students or parents/guardians have any questions, please address them to their AP teacher or to the Guidance Office.

Service Day This Coming Friday, February 1st

On Friday, February 1, Notre Dame students will be going out into the community for the third annual Community Service Day.  Last year over 200 students participated in dozens of different projects.  In order for this year's effort to be successful, we need Virtus-trained volunteers willing to drive and supervise students at our various work sites.  All projects would take place during the school day, between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm.  If you are Virtus-trained (or willing to become trained) and can serve as a driver and/or chaperone, please contact Mr. St.Onge at stonge@notredame.org .
