Again the you are using logic to rationalize the FEELING of being hungry.

In life, emotions come FIRST and then we rationalize them AFTER. We would all like to think of ourselves as logical, but that is not how most decisions are made.

MAKE IT ABOUT HER 

Many guys can not tell you her favorite color, but he can talk about what she does in an average day. Get him talking about her! This is good for two reasons. It let's you know more about her taste and it makes him realize all the many wonderful things she does in a day, prompting him to spend more. 

 

MAKE IT ABOUT THE OCCASION  

Talk about how special and meaningful Christmas can be. Talk about how a birthday celebrates the day she entered this world. Talk about how lucky they are to be getting engaged and how special it is when you meet the person of your dreams. Make the event the focus and the less the price matters.

MAKE THEM FEEL IMPORTANT

Asking people's opinion makes them feel important. "Oh I just finished these newspaper ads. Which do YOU like better?" Something as simple as "Can you hold this" can make people feel more important and more comfortable in your store.

Try these sales lines to create rarity. "Only the top 1% of women own an engagement ring over a carat." "Each diamond is hand selected with you in mind." "She will have a unique piece of jewelry that you can not find anywhere else." "It takes more than 250 tons of diamond containing earth just to find a one carat rough diamond."
