GIA LABORATORY

GIA lab is very well respected. The cost to cert a diamond is around $100 for a 1ct diamond. GIA's website says it takes 5-10 days to get a diamond certed, although I have found it takes longer. You can call the lab at 800 421 7250

EGL has locations all over the world. Most in our industry find EGL USA certs to have stricter grading than EGL foreign labs.

AGS LABORATORY

American Gem Society is well respected as a leader in well cut
diamonds. They were first to give diamonds a cut grade. They also are
very fast. When I called in October they promised a 3-5 day turn around.
Like GIA they charge 50% of the cert cost for a re-check. AGS cost $10-$20
more than GIA in smaller sizes, but then cost $56 more to
cert 3cts diamonds. EGL is less expensive than AGS or GIA.
