Dear Normandale Families,

If you have driven around Normandale lately you know that construction season has begun. Highway 100 is under construction. The neighborhood behind ECC is under construction. Not to be outdone, the fields to the south of Normandale will soon be under construction! This may cause some temporary pain during drop-off and pick-up.
Please see the construction schedule below for additional details:
- 4/21/16 - Major equipment will arrive on site and be parked on the grass of the upper ECC field. Protective temporary fencing will start to be installed.
- 4/22/16 - Shot put on the lower level, by the Concord playground, will start to be shaped with major equipment. This is to be completed by the week of May 2nd.
- 4/26/16 - Earth work will start on the upper ECC field, with large equipment.
- In addition, Normandale's parking lot is slated for re-surfacing this summer.

Carnival Recap
|
Merci Beaucoup!

By all accounts, last weekend's La Kermesse was a carnival for the ages:
- Over 25 pies landed in the face of Principal Holden
- Over 100 pizzas were delivered by Davanni's (and that still wasn't enough!)
- 700 bottles of water, 500 cookies, and 300 Jamba Juices were consumed
The most important number, however, was the $25,000 in profit raised for our award-winning French immersion program. These funds go directly to help ensure we can afford to invite another group of interns next school year.
Thank you to everyone in our community who made this year's carnival one of the most successful. Parents, staff, interns, and volunteers all came together to make it an event our children will never forget.
While the profit generated was wonderful, the memories made were priceless.

Edina High School Thespians Present...
The Edina High School thespians will be presenting their spring musical, "Freckleface Strawberry," on April 28, 29 & 30 at 7:00pm, at the Edina Performing Arts center. Tickets will be available online, with prices of $6 for students/children/seniors, and $10 for adults.
"Freckleface Strawberry will do anything to get rid of her freckles - from scrubbing them with soap, to caking on makeup, and even wearing a ski mask to school! Will her schoolmates realize it's her under the mask? Will Freckleface be brave enough to finally face her complexion in the mirror? With the help of her lovable schoolmates including an amazingly talented ballerina, a cutie jock, a charming ditz, and a totally kooky teacher, Freckleface learns that everyone is different - and that's what makes everyone special! With fun music, awesome dancing... and a freckle-face full of laughs, your whole family will love this brand new musical for all ages . . . freckles or not!" (Description taken from the musical's N.Y. City production website)
