La Liaison Needs You!

La Liaison is looking for an additional editor to learn the ropes this school year and step up for the 2016-2017 school year!

Editing La Liaison is a great way to scoop school news first and give back to the Normandale community.

During weeks where you are the primary editor, you can expect to devote a little of your Wednesday afternoon or evening and a little of your Thursday evening or Friday morning to helping your fellow Normandale parents be a little more informed and possibly a little less frazzled.

If you've ever dreamed of opening an inbox that only contains happy news and easy tasks, then this is the opportunity for you!

To volunteer or learn more, please contact Erica Amevo or Kim Cramer

Imagination Fair Registration

Imagination Fair Online Project Registration is now open!  Registration ends Sunday, March 6th.

Our Annual Imagination Fair is an opportunity for Normandale students to showcase their experiments, inventions or creations. All Normandale students from Kindergarten through 5th Grade are invited to participate. Students may work alone, in pairs, or in a group. The 2016 Imagination Fair will be held on Tuesday, March 8th.

Don't know where to start? Click here for more information on project ideas and guidelines for the Imagination Fair, or contact Amy Vose with questions.

Edina Community Ed: Spring Play Registration

This year's spring play, presented by Drama Kids, is "The Cleanest Town in Texas." This is the highlight of the Drama Kids school year! There are no auditions, and every child performs.

Edina Community Education is now registering students who wish to participate in the spring play. The Drama Kids class for Normandale runs on Tuesdays from April 12th-May 24th. Register your student now to secure their role in the play! Since we cast the play the first day of class, late registrations cannot be accepted.

For further information, contact Flora Delaney at Drama Kids

National expert will lead community conversation on cultural responsiveness
Thursday, March 37-8:30pm
Edina Performing Arts Center at EHS

Edina is becoming a more diverse school district and community. How do we transform to include increasing cultural diversity? Come join in a conversation on March 3 with Dr. Sharroky Hollie, titled " Creating a Culturally Responsive Community."

We are each born and raised in a culture that forms our impressions of self, community and world. This presentation will explore how our own culture and our understanding of race, equity, and responsiveness can influence community awareness and support for change. Through the lens of cultural responsiveness, this community conversation will look at how Edina can support its schools in serving all students equitably and responsively, while also ensuring that the Edina community is welcoming to all residents.

Registration is free, but participants are encouraged to RSVP online  or by calling 952-848-3952.
