Vide-Grenier: Fundraiser for Haiti
|
Third Grade Students are planning and hosting the 4th Annual Vide-Grenier (Garage Sale -- Fundraiser) on Wednesday, February 24th for their service learning project.
This year, we would like to invite 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Families to donate items that will be sold. All proceeds will be used to help the community of Lougou, Haiti through the organization COFHED.
If you would like to donate items for the garage sale, here are the guidelines:
- Donate something from your workplace, like old office supplies
- No weapons or items of a violent nature (guns, swords, etc.)
- No stuffed animals
- Only E or G rated CDs, DVDs, and game disks
- No broken toys or toys with missing parts
- No items that require trying on (ice skates, soccer shoes, etc.)
- If items have multiple parts, please label the items (tell us what they are) and put all the parts in a clear plastic bag so parts do not get misplaced
- Books appropriate for ages K-5 in any language are acceptable
Please bring your donations to any 3rd grade teacher February 17th-19th. MERCI!

Edina Education Fund

We had a lot of fun on Tuesday presenting an Innovation Grant Award to Julie Hoecherl at Normandale! Chris Holden was with us when we surprised her. Here's how we understand the project: $1,243.06 for her project titled "Fitness on the Go Kart": Students and teachers at Normandale Elementary School will learn that fitness can happen in any setting, relieve stress, and improve their physical fitness though the use of medicine balls, resistance bands, weighted balls and more, which will be housed in a cart that can easily move from the gym to any classroom.
Our annual Show and Tell Luncheon will be held on Monday, February, 22nd from 11 am - 1 pm at St. Patrick's Church in Edina. We're celebrating 20 years of enhancing educational opportunities in the Edina Public Schools, and gearing up for the future. Everyone is invited! The event is free, but spots do fill up quickly. Register online by February 17th.
