Volunteer Training
|
Calling all volunteers!
If you haven't attended a Volunteer Training in the past, and plan on volunteering in any capacity this year at Normandale, please come to the Volunteer Training on Wednesday, September 16th from 1:00-1:30pm in the Auditorium.
If you're looking for a volunteer opportunity, the Normandale Office is looking for a parent volunteer to update the Normandale marquee on the frontage road in front of the school. Needs will vary throughout the year. Some changes may need to be done weekly and other times less frequently. Please contact that Normandale Office if you're able to help with this. Thank you!

Coat Drive |
Ahh, glorious September. Cooler air, pumpkin spice lattes, kids back in school. This can only mean one thing: the back to school closet PURGE!
You know that coat your 8-year-old wore three times before going through a growth spurt? Or that "lost" jacket recovered in the school Lost and Found last June, far too late to be of use to anyone?
We have a place for you to bring those coats! Normandale Elementary is participating in Pilgrim Cleaner's "Coats for Kids" drive this year. Bring your gently used coat to school from September 14-October 9 and Pilgrim Cleaners will clean them and distribute them to 8 local charities. We will have a drop off box near the office.
Not only is this a great way to unload your clutter, it's a wonderful way to get your kids thinking about giving to those in need.

From the Normandale Office
|
Parents, please remember to update and/or complete your Health and Emergency Information for each of your students in SchoolView. When you log in to SchoolView, you will be guided through the update process.
Thanks for your cooperation!

Picture Day Reminder
|
Online ordering must be done by September 14th. Even if you don't want to buy pictures, ALL students will have their picture taken for the yearbook.

Innisbrook Fundraiser - Be One in a Minion
|
The Innisbrook gift wrap fundraiser is underway! We hope to raise $30,000 to help fund our extraordinary French intern program.
Today your child should have brought home an envelope containing a catalog, order form, an information page and the prize program sheet. The prizes are cumulative, based on the number of items sold.
The first four levels of prizes will be distributed weekly during the sale. The coupons on the information sheet must be submitted to the office for prize redemption. Prized will be handed out weekly on Friday.
We encourage you and your child to ask neighbors, relatives, co-workers and friends to help support our school by purchasing high quality gift wrap, chocolates, jewelry, gourmet food items and other accessories.
Most people find it is easiest to collect payment as people place orders, as you will need to submit the full amount when the sale ends. The items will arrive mid-November for distribution. If you encounter people who would prefer to donate directly to the school without purchasing anything, they can write a check payable to Normandale PTO. The fundraiser runs September 11 - October 5, 2015.
For any questions, feel free to contact:
We appreciate your participation!

PTO dues cover field trips, class parties and Normandale's intern program. This year Normandale is hosting 19 intern teachers that serve as cultural and linguistic models for all Normandale students. This unique program and opportunity would not be possible without your support.
For more details on PTO dues and what they cover, please visit the PTO website. Note, you can also order yearbooks on the PTO website (the yearbook link is toward the bottom of the page).
