PTO Treasurers Needed

The Normandale Leadership Team (NLT) is looking for a Treasurer and a Vice-Treasurer to serve for the 2015-2016 school year. The Vice-Treasurer will serve as Treasurer for 2016-2017 (2-year commitment). The Treasurer, assisted by the Vice-Treasurer, will help with PTO financial affairs. Their duties, among others, include:

  • Coordinate collection of field trip and room party dues.
  • Assist PTO sub-committees with budgeting and review budgets periodically throughout the year.
  • Assist on the day/night of fundraising events by collecting, counting, and depositing revenues.
  • Attend NLT meetings and semi-annual General Membership meetings.

Basic accounting skills and knowledge of QuickBooks software are required.

If you or someone within your household can serve Normandale in these capacities, please send an email to either Charles Amevo or John Conte to discuss.

Field Day Pictures

We are in need of a volunteer to collect pictures from Field Day and put them in the collages by the Health Office.

Please let the Normandale office know if you help. Also, if you are volunteering at Field Day, please consider taking a variety of pictures that can be used in the collages. Thank you!

Order School Supplies for 2015-16

Can you believe it? It's already to time to order 2015-16 school supplies. At Normandale, students are not given a school supply shopping list. Instead, we pay into the school supplies fund and then the PTO orders supplies in bulk. This saves parents time and money, reduces waste and promotes sharing as part of our school culture. The supplies will be delivered to the classrooms the last week in July. In order to meet that timeline and minimize costs, we need payment from parents by June 30th.

Early Bird Savings - save $10 per student if you order by June 30, 2015!

Click here to order school supplies

If you have any questions, more information is available on the Normandale PTO website, or feel free to contact the School Supply Coordinator Susan Sanda, 952-922-8786. You may also contact Principal Chris Holden with scholarship/aid requests.

Birthday Book Program

Thank you to the families who donated books to the Normandale Media Center in honor of their child's birthday!

Participating in the Birthday Book program enables our library to stay fresh and alive with new and fabulous books for the kids to enjoy. We were happy to add over 40 Birthday Books to our circulation this year!

If you are interested in participating in the Birthday Book Program next year, please contact Tracy Pearson, Media Specialist, 952-848-4121. Merci!

Merci from the Media Center

The Media staff extends a huge thank you to all of the wonderful parents, grandparents, and friends of the library who volunteered to help in the Media Center!

With your much appreciated help students and staff checked out 57,673 books this year, ALL of which needed to be placed back on the shelf. Thank you to Sue Tiegen, Shelly Okundaye, Jennifer Haenel, Jean Bonneville, Hélène Boback, Shannon Case, Sue Holmes, Nancy Sparano, Julie Curti, Leyla Garofalo, Amanda Thompson, Mary Stoltman and Carrie Asanji. A special thanks to Andrea Delaney who has faithfully been digitizing all of the French collection with pictures. Thank you to Michelle Langfel our wonderful Media Coordinator! All of you have made the media center program a success. We hope all of you volunteer in the media center next year. Your time and dedication makes the media center ready for all.

From the Social Worker

For the past eight years of a 24-year career I have had the great privilege of calling Normandale "my school." The staff, students, and families are remarkable. It is with sadness, for leaving, and happiness, for the retirement journey that follows, that I bid a fond "Adieu." This will be my last waving goodbye to the buses on May 29th. I welcome any parents and students who happen by my office during this busy end of the school year to stop by and share a few memories.

Merci Beaucoup!

Lost and Found

As we approach the end of the school year, please be sure to check the lost and found to claim any missing items (jackets, boots, hats, gloves, etc.). Items not claimed by June 2 will be donated to a local charity.
