Rally Month - Sign up to Host an Intern

Normandale Elementary loves our interns!

February is RALLY MONTH! We will need 54 host families to bring over 24 interns for the next school year. Currently we only have 9 out of 54 host families needed. Sharon Norlander and Megan Botham just returned from recruiting interns in France. They interviewed 60 plus candidates, many of whom would be a great fit for Normandale! Please consider opening your heart and your home to an intern.

Each Friday in February, we will be doing something fun at school to remind everyone how important our intern program is!

  •  February 27th is is Pajama Day with a special treat of Madelines at lunch

Visit the Edina Interns web site to learn more about being a host family and/or to sign up. If you already know you want to host an intern, please sign up now.

Normandale Imagination Fair

Tuesday, March 3, 2015
6:00-7:30pm, Normandale Auditorium

Our annual Imagination Fair is an opportunity for Normandale students to showcase their experiments, inventions, or creations. All Normandale students, from kindergarten to fifth grade, are invited to participate. Students may work alone, with another student, or in a group.

Online Project Registration: February 20th (Friday) - March 1st (Sunday)

Don't know where to start? Projects don't have to be complicated! Let your imagination, creativity, and inventiveness guide you. Explore whatever interests you at this moment...nature, mechanics, art, technology, fashion, chemistry, photography, animals, weather, crafts, or any other hobbies.

For project ideas and guidelines, please check the Normandale PTO website, or contact Cheche Lacsamana with questions.

Jane Kise will address the strengths and needs pertinent to each of the unique children in your care. This forum will help you:

* determine how your child learns best
* identify strategies that best assist each child in finding their success
* find better ways to help your child navigate the worlds of school, friendships, siblings and sports

These tools will help you develop homework, discipline, family routine, and other strategies that will work to strengthen your child's development.

Kise founded Differentiated Coaching Association to increase leadership effectiveness for business leaders, education leaders, as well as teachers-our leaders in the classroom. She also works as a consultant, specializing in team building, leadership coaching, and staff development. Ms. Kise is the co-author of 20 books; she holds an MBA from Carlson School of Management, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas.
