Pinstripes Party Tomorrow - Saturday, November 15th at 7:00 pm

Almost 200 and Counting!

Where will you be this Saturday Night?

Hopefully you'll be at Pinstripes with the 200+ other Normandale and Valley View parents, teachers and interns who plan to attend the annual fundraising party at Pinstripes! It is one of the highlights of the school year!

If you don't have them yet, now is the time to buy your tickets and help us meet our goal of 300 attendees! Buy your tickets today! If for some reason you haven't purchased ahead of time, you will be able to buy tickets at the door, but better to plan ahead!

Things to know about the event:

  • Bring your FULLY charged cell phone, as the Silent Auction bidding will be via cell phone - no paper sheets to sign your name a million times on! Don't have a cell phone? That's OK - we will have auction support with tablets to help you with your bidding.
  • Our auction is going "live" TODAY! If you purchased your tickets by Wednesday, November 12, (and provided us with a cell phone number) you will get a sneak peek at all the great Silent Auction items and the Community Connections Events, and be able to start the bidding or sign up early! Imagine how great it would be to secure a spot in all your favorite Community Connection parties and not have to worry about it at Pinstripes. Instead, you can spend your time enjoying the company of other French Immersion parents and partaking in the great food and drink!

Can't Make it to Pinstripes?

Though we'd much rather have you there to join in the fun, if you can't attend in person, here are some ways you can still make a difference:

Community Connections: Those who cannot attend the event will still have an opportunity to sign up for Community Connections via an online "auction." Spots that remain after the fundraiser will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. More information on this will be available after the event.

Donate: Maybe you just can't host a Community Connection or don't have any items to donate to the Silent Auction. That's OK! You can still help. Donate now online! We will use your generous donations to support the intern program.

We hope to see you there!

Please contact Karen Epple or Annie Heitzmann  with any questions.

Normandale Media Center Help Needed

Are you looking for a place you can volunteer and help make a difference at your child's school?

Please consider volunteering in the Media Center. We need help with book checkout, shelving books, and digitizing our Media collection. Come help and share a few minutes with your student(s) when they come to the Media Center. You don't have to commit to a long period of time or a specific time every week. The sign up is online and you can volunteer for a little as an hour at a time. There is a large need for help on Monday and Thursday afternoons.

If you are interested or would simply like to schedule a time you can help, contact Michelle Langefels, or if you have questions, contact Michelle at 952-941-2247 or Tracy Pearson at 952-848-4121.

Thank you. We look forward to seeing you!

Teacher Bio: Meet M Benjamin Cornet

I grew up in Franche-Comté, in the east central region of France. I graduated with degrees in both socio-anthropology and French as a foreign language, and completed a Master's degree in socio-anthropology in Italy. I have taught at universities in France and Morocco and in a French middle school. I have also been involved with several educational and linguistic cooperative exchanges between France and Morocco.

I have been hired as a fourth grade teacher at Normandale this year! Lucky me!

I'm enjoying each day of my life in the US, hanging out with friends and playing sports regularly. I can't wait to go downhill and cross country skiing.

In the end, Milo learns the true value of time and learning.
