Principal's Weekly

Normandale Families,

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
  • Kindergarten acceptance and notice of wait-list status will be mailed out this Friday, Jan. 17th.
  • First semester grades will be available for parents in SchoolView next Friday, Jan. 24th  by 5 pm.
January is a series of shortened school weeks this year! I like to view the change in routine as an opportunity to sharpen my focus. There are some quiet moments to take the myriad of tasks that are always on the "to do" list and prioritize. The students, their welfare, learning opportunities and ongoing progress remains at the top of the list.

Enjoy the extra time with your great kids and we'll look forward to seeing them again after the Martin Luther King holiday. Many of his wise words inspire, but these are the ones that touch me today and give me energy: We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope. - MLK

My door is always open,

Scholastic Book Fair

Mark your calendars for the annual Scholastic Book Fair

January 29th and 30th from 8 AM - 6 PM

This year we will be on the 3rd floor of the Community Center, room 303. The best doors to enter are doors 4 or 7 on the east side of the building. You do not need to check in or enter through Normandale: enter directly through the community center portion of the building.

Bring someone special after school and enjoy refreshments and reading in our new location!

Host Families for 2014-15

We're Looking for Host Families for 2014 -2015 School Year!

Please consider hosting an intern next school year. They are an essential part of our children's immersion education and you can enrich your family's immersion experience by welcoming an intern into your home.

Did You Know? It's a year-long process to get the interns for each school year. Please consider signing up to host for either fall or spring of 2014-15. We need 55 families to invite all 24 interns. Invitations to the interns will go out March 1st so that their paperwork isn't delayed. We need all the families signed up by February 24th deadline. And it's SO EASY to sign-up. If you have questions please contact Anne Jennen or Kris Wetmore.
