Last week's survey results...

Have you had any problems with your programs after installing windows 10, ie Photoshop, Coreldraw or various other programs?

  • Not impressed, I wish I never upgraded, I was hoping Microsoft would recognise the difference between tablets and desktop computers and come up with two operating systems and not try to put the same system on both. It is so frustrating to work with it doubling or tripling the work involved in finding files. I guess it also comes down to not knowing enough about it ad why should I have to learn about it when I spent years learning my way around Windows 7 and all its predecessors. I have had this problem with other software developers, they do major upgrades that help the developer but frustrates the user by having to relearn a whole new system. Also some of my old favourite programs that will not work with this bloody Windows 10.
  • YES I have a PC with adobe creative suite and ever since we upgraded to windows 8.1 we have not been able to print from Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign directly to the printer (xerox 6075ii) Driving me mad!.
  • My Windows 10 upgrade (from 64-bit Win 8.1) went very smoothly, preserving all my settings and apps. This included a lot of old software including Photoshop/InDesign CS3 and CorelDraw X3 and X5.
The only annoyance I've had with CorelDraw X5 is that the menu bar is now white on white, however the menu items become visible when you hover over them. Otherwise X5 behaves as expected (existing bugs and all). I suspect X3 is more stable.

  • Firstly, I ain't no techo, but I'm finding corel draw x6 is occasionally crashing mid drawing...Argh!! i don't know why, but when it happens... i ain't happy ,Jan!!
I can state tho ,it was more stable before windows 10 .

  • I dare not go there yet as I think it would create a problem!
  • It's got some nice features but being an old bloke I find it difficult to work with "apps" and not "programs". I liked the way Windows used to work but I guess maybe the younger printers will take to it.
  • Wouldn't know, we only use Apple computers, also use Apple at home and wouldn't think about using Windows, especially from the rumours that we hear about. Mind you, Apple is not without problems but it is much more consistent, as far as I know.

Smile: It's only Monday!

A very tired nurse walks into a bank, totally exhausted after a 16-hour shift. Preparing to write a cheque, she pulls a rectal thermometer out of her purse and tries to write with it. When she realises her mistake, she looks at the flabbergasted teller, and without missing a beat, she says: 'Well, that's great, that's just great, some arsehole's got my pen.
