This week's survey
(These survey questions are sent in by our readers. Please spend a minute to give your answer to this week's survey as one or possibly more of your industry peers thinks this question is important and wishes to see your point of view as well as others in the industry.)

How important is it to offer "green" print options these days?

Our last week's survey results...

Are you using any or all of the social media to promote your business and do you think it is beneficial?

  • FACEBOOK A very valuable addition to our websites and quick and easy to update
  • Social Media can be beneficial if you have regular, repeat clients that can benefit from announcements of new products, specials and events. These clients would be willing to stay in touch and invest their time sifting through the information overload.
  • Have started to just recently, haven't really increased more jobs yet. One thing I have noticed is the amount of people liking the site (Facebook), & the positive comments. It is also increased the awarness of the work & products we offer. When we finish a job we post it to facebook & that also promotes the clients job. It does have a lot protential & needs to be updated regularly,
  • We have an account with all the usual social media. We pushed it for a year and had a few 'tire-kickers' and $10-$20 dollar enquiries. Didn't even cover the time cost to us. Business people are usually to busy to 'play' social media (it's mostly a recreational activity). I think it depends on who your clients mostly are. Some businesses are having great success with it.
  • We are using Facebook and it really works for us -
  • I use Instagram and Facebook. It has trickled in a few jobs but nothing significant. For me it is part of an SEO strategy and leverages what I already do for collecting content for my website. Printing is a visual industry, and it is easy to take a photo of a finished job, post it on Instagram, from there it is shared onto Facebook and posted onto my website.
  • I use social media strictly to keep my name in front of the local community. I have had excellent success, but it requires constant interaction. It is strictly a branding exercise for me, if I get business via it, then that is a bonus.
  • Given the time it takes to keep ttrack of these things and then dream up comments so as to be seen to be active, I don't believe the investment in time gives a return on that investment. I still belive these are tools for kids to stay in touch.

(As a publishing practice to protect ourselves from any potential liability, company and individual names that are referred to negatively in any of these comments are removed.
In addition we reserve the right to remove comments that are blatant advertising for one product or company)

Smile: It's only Monday!

A child asked his father, "How were people born?" So his father said, "Adam and Eve made babies, then their babies became adults and made babies, and so on."

The child then went to his mother, asked her the same question and she told him, "We were monkeys then we evolved to become like we are now."

The child ran back to his father and said, "You lied to me!" His father replied, "No, your mom was talking about her side of the family."
